Five days off and tons to blog about
So, yeah, um, I didn’t fall off the face of the earth. I went to my mother’s house to visit for a few days. My folks just bought a new computer and are being more protective of it than I am of my son — which resulted in a five day, unexpected, cold-turkey withdrawal from the internet. Not quite as bad as it could have been, but we know how bad it can be to go unplugged. *shudder*
My parents just adore Hamza which is great and Hamza adores them. He acts so much better for them than for me. Hrmph. He went on long walks/rides with his auntie, played with my mother’s medicine boxes (this stuff costs a heckuva lot more than the crystal you keep hidden up high!), ate tons of food, took some naps, and a good time was had.
My mother is doing the same as she has for the past several weeks — blech. Many bad days, a few good ones. I met her physician assistant at the transplant center (her primary physician is her nephrologist – look it up, its a good latin root to know – as she had a transplant two years ago). PA Sherry is fabulous – I was so impressed that a person in the medical profession actually listened to my mother for half and hour and talked with her. The doctors at the transplant center are top knotch anyway. PA Sherry is trying to expedite procedures that are standing in the way of my mother getting on a heart transplant list. The pre-list work is the hard going this transplant — the kidney was the waiting for a donor — but because she is not O type blood, the actual list is short and moves fast. We will continue to wait and see. Its hard to see Mom working so hard just for every little breath and movement.
I think I have more to blog, but I will save it for another time… maybe tonight or tomorrow morning.
Sorry I disappeared!
